Turf to Trees 2026 - From Native to Novel: Landscape Change in Montana
This workshop will provide participants with a comprehensive exploration of how shifting climate patterns, urban development, and changing water availability are reshaping Montana’s landscapes. Attendees will learn how to select plants that are well-suited to specific site conditions—such as soil type, moisture levels, and climate—helping to reduce maintenance needs and improve long-term success.The sessions will also cover how to assess key soil properties and offer practical strategies for enhancing soil health and function. In addition, participants will gain insight into emerging insect pests and plant diseases affecting our landscapes. The workshop will emphasize integrated pest management (IPM) approaches, including effective techniques for monitoring, prevention, and sustainable management.

Day 2: August 20, is tailored to Master Gardeners, MSU Extension Agents, and fellow Horticulture Enthusiasts.
